Tasmania Golf- Barclay Shield -Judy Elphinstone 54-Hole Tournament

Thirlstane Golf Club secured its first victory in the Barclay Shield conducted at the Ulverstone Golf Club recently. The club which is located on the North West Coast was represented by Liz Sumpton, Suzanne Sykes, Katrina Mitchelson and Janelle Thompson.

The quartet won the prestigious team foursomes’ event with a net aggregate of 158.5. Half a stroke in front of George Town Golf Club on 159 and represented by Laura van der Molen, Leonie Gordon, Kerri Davis and Vicki Towns.

Ulverstone Golf Club's Sarah Johnstone won the Judy Elphinstone 54-Hole Tournament comfortably recently. Johnstone won the title by a massive 22 strokes from Smithton golfer Jackie Poke.

Exeter Golf Club's Wendy Cuthbertson took out the Women's Tasmanian B Grade Amateur while Rocky Kingston from Smithton collected the corresponding C Grade title.

Royal Hobart Golf Club's Debbie Taylor won the 18-hole Stroke Challenge and Beck Moles put Llanherne on the golfing map with a win in the 18-Hole Stableford Challenge.
