ROYAL CANBERRA HOLDS ON AGAINST FEDERAL FOR THE PREMIER PENNANT IN 2022

In another nail-biter, Royal Canberra and Federal faced off in perfect golfing conditions at

Queanbeyan Golf Club for the A Grade Division 1 Pennant trophy for 2022.

After surviving their semi-final in a playoff against Yowani the previous Sunday on their home turf,

Royal had to again dig deep to overcome Federal at the first playoff hole – in gathering gloom, with

daylight disappearing fast.

As has happened in many of the District Pennant finals this year, Royal were in a handy position with

a 3-1 lead before Federal number 1 and 2 players Adam Robinson and Adam Granquist finished their

matches strongly to tie the contest at 3-3.

Harry Bolton for Royal and Lachie Chamberlain for Federal went straight to the 1st hole for the team

playoff, with Harry prevailing for Royal Canberra to take back the Southern Tablelands shield from

defending holder Gold Creek.

Federal captain Adam Granquist thanked the club sponsors and was especially proud of the team for

the work put in to reach the final after the disappointment of 2021.
