Queensland's Quinnton Croker wins in Singapore

Queensland's Quinnton Croker is the inaugural champion of the LLD International Amateur Championship in Singapore after a dominant wire-to-wire victory.

The 19-year-old lit up Laguna National Golf & Country Club - which also hosted recently Queen Sirikit Cup - in shooting rounds of 67, 66 and 74 to finish nine-under par and 12 shots clear of local player Daryl Low.

“This is my first time being out of Australia playing an event, it’s pretty good to come away with a win. I’ve won a couple of events in Australia but this is definitely one of the biggest ones I’ve won,” Croker said.

“I played alright recently, came in here playing pretty well, swung it good, putt it well, the greens are similar to home so it didn’t feel too unnatural, happened to play some really good golf and the scores showed that.”

Croker represented Queensland at the Australian Interstate Teams Matches last month - where he went undefeated - and he was joined in Singapore by three of his competitors from that tournament: Victorian Toby Walker, South Australian Charlie Nobbs and Tasmanian Hunter Gillard.
