Pacific Harbour Ladies Solheim Challenge
The Solheim International team were the overall winners recently of Pacific Harbour Ladies Solheim Challenge by 4 points, avenging their loses of 2017 & 2019.
The event commenced on Thursday evening with 82 attending the Solheim Dinner where our playing partners and opponents were randomly drawn throughout the evening. With playing handicaps ranging from 0 to 45.
Saturday morning, Foursomes competition followed by a Fourball Event in the afternoon. The Internationals took a small head start winning the morning 6 points to 5. However, in the afternoon they were too good for the Aussies and increased their lead winning the event 7½ to 3½ - a lead of 5 at the end of the day. We all fronted up again on Sunday morning to play out the Single Matchplay. With several low handicappers playing much higher handicappers and giving multiple shots of some holes it turned out to be an interesting day. The Aussies battled well and fought back to take the Sunday matches 12½ - 11½. Unfortunately not enough to take out the coveted Solheim Challenge Trophy with the International Team winning overall 25 - 21 points.
