Barker wins the Queensland Women’s Country Championship.

Amber Barker (Atherton) has fired a 4-over par 74 to win the 2022 Queensland Women’s Country Championship by a single shot.

Barker was ecstatic with her win, after consistent play on the Half Moon Bay “Dry 9” layout.

The event had to be reduced to 18-holes after Cairns Golf Club received significant rainfall during the championship. This resulted in all Divisions contesting the Championship at Half Moon Bay Golf Club only.

Sarah Antcliff (Yeppoon) played consistent golf shooting 5-over par 75 to finish runner-up.

The Division 2 winner was Surfers Paradise member Jan Sugg, with a score of 93 on a count back. Nadine Battilana (Yeppoon) also returned a round of 93 to finish runner -Up.

Division 3 was won by Sue Allsopp (Mackay) who was able to return a fantastic score of 45 points in the Stableford competition. Local player Lynne Power (Half Moon Bay) was runner-up with 35 points. Marya Hayward (Texas) was victorious in Division 4, winning on a count back with 35 points.
